Ate at Chappy's for the first time Thursday night. Went with a colleague from work. Arrived about 6:30pm and place was empty, always makes you nervous. By the end of dinner there where a few more tables, but I could not understand how this place was not packed, the food was fantastic, service was engaging and Chappy was wonderful. We each had one of the specials, a blackended red snapper and crawfish etoufee, both where excellent. Chappy came to the table to ensure we enjoyed it, and also gave us suggestions on desert, ihad the coconut cake (his mothers recipe?), it was very good, sweet, and huge, count not finish the slice. As others have said the location is not top notch, but once inside who cares. Great experience and meal.

Too bad this place isn't near me! Recommended to come here for Cajun food while in Nashville. Looked at their menu online, and saw crawfish etouffee. I started drooling, since I haven't had that delicacy in a really long time. I wanted to be reunited with a roux of spices, crawfish, and yup, more crawfish. However, it was NOT on the lunch menu! Thankfully, the server understood that I desperately needed to satisfy my craving for this dish. The chef said yes to my delight, and I ordered fried green tomatoes since our server said it was a specialty. How fantastic! It was smothered with crawfish (score!), Hollandaise sauce, and grated parmesan cheese. This was my teaser to my etouffee, no doubt. And then the dish came, and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I wish I could have eaten the whole thing in one sitting, but I told myself that I could save it for later. I resisted the temptation, and brought it back home :) Don't focus on the decor or the paper-covered table. Enjoy the food!

An upscale Cajun restaurant with a large selection of seafood entrees and a decent selection of landfood. The starter loaf of bread comes with 4 balls of butter whipped into proprietary mixes: Garlic, Strawberry, "Alligator" and plain butter. The Alligator tasted like it had some BBQ powder mixed in, it tasted like BBQ potato chips. They were all good. The turtle soup had a tomato base that did not do justice to the turtle meat. I will have to try another turtle dish in my future. Anyone know where I can get some deep-fried turtle tail? The scallops came as ordered, broiled with some spice on top, accompanied by cajun veggies. The dish was very good, savory, buttery, with a nice contrast to the slightly crunchy vegetables. I understand that the lamb chops were also very fine; they looked appetizingly good. The service was also spot-on and I appreciate all of the restaurants employees who had to come in and work the day after Christmas so I could enjoy a good meal!
